On Friday 08 November I attended the Lived Experience in Social Security Policy Research event at LSE in London with researchers and other participants from Changing Realities. This was a wonderful experience and very well organized by all involved in putting the day together. There were many academics presenting and a chance for participants from other similar groups to explain how we work together and what difficulties are involved in such a project both in person and via video link. It was good to hear a variety of opinions from all involved, leaving me with a lot to think over. Personally I am still very dubious about the use of AI in this type of research but as explained there is still a lot of work to be done in order for this to go ahead. All involved in the day were very respectful of others' views and opinions and we were made to feel equal and welcome with our own thoughts and feelings. When the event had formally finished for the day there was a drinks reception where I could talk more openly to some of the other attendees about what research has been done on a couple of issues that are of interest to me. It was a long and tiring day but I am honoured to have been invited to speak at this event.

I would like to say a huge thank you to all involved in putting this amazing day together and for helping me with being able to attend, with special thanks to Ruth / Uisce from Changing realities / Lizzie / Maria from Child Poverty Action Group
