Hopes and fears for 2025?

Hopes and fears for 2025?

I hope the government urgently sorts out the damage they've arrogantly and recklessly inflicted onto the most vulnerable, in what is widely recognised as the 5th largest economy in the world. There was no need to remove the pensioners winter fuel payments (The End Fuel Poverty Coalition energy firm profit tracker states that the top 20 energy companies have made over £460 billion since the start of the "corporate greed crisis" but instead of going after their profits the new Tory tribute government took £5 billion away from our pensions.) and I only hope they don't come after the disabled next.

I hope they don't intend to inflict further misery onto more vulnerable people, in the spring budget or beyond by making more cuts to benefits and services, making it harder than ever to get by for millions of folk, already struggling to make it through to the end of each week.

I hope politicians will start to see the true impact of their badly thought out policies as the year progresses and actually admit and correct their mistakes.

I fear they will be finished as a political party if they don't take action to address the mistakes in the last budget which hit the poorest and most vulnerable the hardest. I fear they will be finished if they continue to do NOTHING about price gouging by energy companies and supermarkets, and do NOTHING for families in deep poverty, do NOTHING to tackle faultless evictions, then stay out of the country as much as possible, attempt to be-friend Trump, or make speeches which do nothing but depress people.

I fear the game is over for the government unless they appoint a new and more inspiring leader who truly HEARS what people desperately need and will deliver hope for everyone's sakes.

I fear a Labour government who are Conservatives in disguise.

I hope we're all proved wrong.
