How are you managing housing costs?

We rent a privately owned house in London. Our rent in itself is more than my earnings. This is mostly covered by the housing benefit component of Universal Credit, but it does not cover the whole amount. Since we’ve lived here, I’ve always feared our rent would rise further, making it unaffordable. Or we’d be evicted at a moment's notice. We’ve now lived in this house for 12 years. Fortunately our rent has not risen to the point where we have had to look elsewhere. However, being in this position has still been precarious in a few ways. Although it is our home for now, I still feel insecure and I often think about what could happen to us when it comes to our housing situation.
