What changes are happening in your life and how are they impacting you?

I am furious with the labour government for adding vat on private school fees.

My son is lucky enough to have two family members pay for his private education. However they have had to sacrifice holidays, luxury items, clothes food you name it so that he can have the best education possible because as we know the state schools are horrendous and chaotic and over filled.

They were just on the cusp of financially being able to keep him in his school but since the Vat added he will have to leave his school next year.

Sadly my son has lost two family members to suicide in the last two years so not only will this be another trauma for him, but he will also lose his friendship circle too!!

With the VAT increase added this has doubled his bill by £900 a month. As a result of this he will have to leave his education next year along with several of his other friends in his year group as they are facing the same financial difficulties due to the vat being added.

The government has not thought this through there will be an influx of children leaving private school and trying to get places in already oversubscribed state schools so the council are going to have a massive job on their hands in the springtime.

I’m hoping that once the bill is passed it can be overturned and labour will stop discriminating against children that have a slightly better off income than other children. You should not penalise children and this will only make private schools for the elite.
