How are costs feeling for you and your family right now?

The costs that are feeling slightly worrying for me are my energy costs, particularly because the weather is a lot more colder now, and i'm having to keep the lights on for more longer, because it gets darker earlier on in the day, plus my house has small windows which doesn't allow much daylight in even when the weather is sunny. Moreover, my 9 year old, likes to spend his spare time on his video games which uses up even more electric.

Aside from cutting back on my usage (which sometimes is impossible to do) I understand that agencies such as Citizens Advice, have been giving energy vouchers to people in need with pre-payment /Smart energy meters.

However, the sad thing is that this same help is not available for people like myself who pay for their energy by Direct Debit (like me), hence, one of the support strategies I think would most help me and my family, would be to be able to access help for paying for my energy bills even though I pay via Direct Debit.

It doesn't make sense to me why only people with pre-payment meters are able to access this type of help and support with their energy bills, when people like myself have the same financial needs as them, but yet don't receive the same level of support.
