I think this is another example of how far removed our prime minister is from reality. And although I don't claim benefits myself, I work and I'm studying. I've got a child who I'm currently actually trying to claim disability for. He's got pathological demand avoidance. We're in absolute poverty and I'm dealing with a chronic health condition and I'm absolutely broken, absolutely broken. I'm at the point where something has to give and I honestly think my child needs me and obviously he is the priority. And I really feel like I don't know how long I'm going to keep being able to go to work because I am so broken. And then it worries me that am I going to be able to access any kind of, like, support financially if that is the case? I'm just in disbelief that the government are targeting this vulnerable group of society. And I think that what's screaming to me is that we really need to focus on putting the infrastructure in making sure people can access help for their mental health rather than pulling the rug out from underneath them before that is solved. A six week course of CBT is not the answer. We need long term psychological support for this cohort of people. Absolutely frightening.
