In NI the summer is 9 weeks. It’s long to have your children off school for that length of time. I didn’t even know the date or the day most times. It was a struggle to find exciting things to do in the wet weather. It’s over now and I’m glad of the routine for my 2. This was the first summer I had to choose my sons education over day trips, paying for a transfer test summer scheme so he had the same opportunities as others.
