University of York

I live in York with my husband John, and I work at the University of York as a lecturer in mental health. As a mental health nurse by background, I’m all too aware of the harmful impacts that living in poverty can have on wellbeing. I believe that one of the best ways we can improve our mental health as a society is to make sure everyone has access to enough resources to be able to live well. My hope for Changing Realities is that we can work together to create meaningful and much needed change for families living on low incomes, both now during the cost-of-living crisis and into the future.

When I’m not at work, I enjoy walking our dog Frank and watching York City Football Club play at the local stadium…well, when they win that is!
